Andaman Block POD Targeted To Be Completed In October

JAKARTA - The Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities (SKK Migas) revealed the latest news regarding the plan to develop the Andaman Block.

Head of SKK Migas Dwi Soetjipto said the Andaman Block Plan of Development (POD) is targeted to be completed in October 2024. The latest news, he said, is that Mubadala Energy as the block operator is currently preparing a development scenario.

"So they calculate what the platform needs, need a source, how much and so on and it is targeted that we can complete this plan of development around October, which is South Andaman Mubadala," he said to the media when met at JCC, Wednesday, August 14.

Tjip said, Soetjipto's nickname, with the existence of Giant Discovery and Big Fish, Mubadala Energy was able to prepare a plan to develop the South Andaman Block.

"So Mubadala has Giant Discovery 1 with Big Fish 1, so that's enough to start designing a plan of development. You need to build LNG later, it will definitely be channeled to Sumatra later, we will calculate the calculation of industrial needs," concluded Soetjipto.
