PT Tripatra Engineers and Constructioners (TRIPATRA), a leading engineering engineering-based solution provider in Indonesia, announced strategic cooperation with one of the national private companies, PT Kaltim Parna Industri (KPI), to build a CO2 disbursement facility in Bontang, East Kalimantan.

This project marks one of the significant steps in efforts to reduce carbon emissions and create economic potential from carbon dioxide in Indonesia. Departing from these two things, TRIPATRA and KPI will utilize by-product CO2 from the Amoniak KPI factory which is processed into commercial added-valued products (Carbon Capture and Utilization/CCU).

CCU is a technology that captures carbon dioxide (CO2) produced from industrial processes and power plants, and is then reused to produce high-quality products in various applications, including the food and beverage industry. With a planned production capacity of 300 metric tons per day, this facility will be the largest in Indonesia by producing food quality CO2.

Through more than 50 years of experience and expertise, all work coverage of Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) will be TRIPATRA's responsibility. This project is expected to be completed efficiently, effectively, and implement high security standards.

"Our collaboration with KPI is a significant step for Tripatra in encouraging innovation in the industrial sector. With a focus on implementing carbon capture technology for carbon utilization and emission reduction, we are committed to using our multidisciplinary engineering expertise to provide sustainable solutions for energy transitions and acceleration of downstreaming. We will ensure this project is implemented efficiently with the highest quality and safety standards," said TRIPATRA President Director & CEO, Raymond N. Rasfuldi, in a written statement, Tuesday, August 13.

Through this collaboration, KPI and TRIPATRA are committed to encouraging sustainable innovation which will provide long-term benefits to the environment and the national economy. This project will also indirectly strengthen KPI's position as a pioneer in sustainable industrial innovation and create a positive impact not only on the environment but also on the industrial community as a whole.

Supriyadi Day, President Director of PT Kaltim Parna Industri said this partnership with TRIPATRA was an important and strategic step in achieving his vision to become a sustainable company.

"We believe that this collaboration will produce new innovations that will bring benefits to all stakeholders. By adopting CCU technology, this collaboration not only produces quality products and reduces carbon footprint, but also opens up new business opportunities and strengthens our position as one of the sustainable leaders of the national private industry in Indonesia," he explained.
