Sri Mulyani's Subordinates Ensure That The 2024 Paris Olympic Medal Is Free Of Import Duty

JAKARTA - Special Staff to the Minister of Finance for Communications Yustinus Prastowo ensured and guaranteed that the medals won from the 2024 Paris Olympics won by athletes would not be imposed or exempted from import duties.

In addition, Prastowo said, the Directorate General of Customs and Excise (Ditjen Bea Cukai) of the Ministry of Finance would welcome the athletes who arrived in Indonesia.

"Excise Customs is ready to welcome with full respect, joy, and of course with state facilities: guaranteed everything that is achieved is duty-free! We are proud," Prastowo wrote in his official X account, Friday, August 9.

Prastowo also said that in the upload, he congratulated the Indonesian athletes who won medals at the 2024 Paris Olympics.

Congratulations Veddriq and Rizki! Extraordinary achievements in Paris. Gold is so meaningful for Indonesia," he wrote.

Previously, on social media, there was a lot of discussion that the gold medal from the men's speed climbing sport, namely Veddriq Leonardo, who won a medal from the 2024 Paris Olympics, would be subject to an import duty fee at Soekarno-Hatta Airport (CGK).

Because this happened last year where there were Indonesian citizens (WNI) who won the singing competition in Japan and were subject to import duties when they brought home their trophies.
