Sri Mulyani Reveals Drafting of 2025 State Budget Has Been Approved by Jokowi and Prabowo

JAKARTA - Finance Minister Sri Mulyani said that her party has started to prepare the 2025 State Budget Draft (RAPBN).

"We are holding a meeting to prepare, the process of preparing the 2025 RAPBN. As is known, the 2025 RAPBN was prepared by the current president and government which will later be implemented by the elected government, namely the president and vice president and the elected cabinet," she said after a limited meeting on the Government Work Plan and the 2025 RAPBN online, Monday, August 5.

Sri Mulyani explained that the Ministry of Finance has received approval from President Jokowi and the president-elect regarding the macroeconomic situation both from a global and national perspective that will affect various assumptions for the implementation of the 2025 RAPBN.

Such as economic growth, inflation, interest rates, 10-year government securities, rupiah exchange rate, oil prices, oil lifting, gas lifting.

"Later, part of the substance of the final RAPBN will be submitted by the president on August 16 in the plenary session of the House of Representatives (DPR)," she said.

The state treasurer added that the 2025 State Budget posture has been reported to the president and the president-elect regarding the initial discussion from the DPR in this case through the Macroeconomic Framework and Fiscal Policy Principles (KEM-PPK) 2025.

"The posture is not expected to experience much deviation from what has been discussed with the DPR, but because this is to accommodate in accordance with the direction of the current President, namely President Jokowi, that the 2025 State Budget accommodates priority programs that have been submitted by the government of the president-elect, so we started calculating for programs that are often mentioned such as free nutritious food, then also several new initiative programs that are currently being finalized with the team from the elected president," she said.

Sri Mulyani said that this has been included in the 2025 APBN posture.

For several special policies, President Jokowi and the president-elect will later convey them when he starts his government in October 2024.

Sri Mulyani added that the current transition process is going well, communication running intensely between the current government and the president and vice president-elect.

"And also regarding the detailed programs, we have started to accommodate them and later will be written in the financial notes," she said.
