Bulog Absorbs 800,000 Tons Of Farmer's Rice Until The First Semester Of 2024

JAKARTA - The Bulog Public Company (Perum) noted that it had absorbed as much as 800 thousand tons of rice equivalent to domestic rice procurement until the first semester of 2024.

"I think it's almost 800,000, yes (semester I 2024), we will continue to absorb it too," said Bulog Business Director Febby Novita after the Fun Morning Bulog event, Sunday, August 4.

Febby said that in terms of the price of Public Services Obligation (PSO) rice, if the price was still a little high, it would optimize rice absorption in commercial.

"If the rice milling center (SPP) in us is full every day, it absorbs from domestic revenues," he said.

Febby explained that currently the price of unhulled rice is still above the price of the government purchase (HPP) so that his party currently only gets premium rice production.

"Because indeed, if the price of unhulled rice is Rp. 7,000-Rp. 6,800, we only do it twice if we want to be rice. Even though we have to pack and others, process, not to mention others," he explained.

Previously, the National Food Agency (Bapanas) ensured that Perum Bulog would continue to absorb local farmers' rice harvests in line with the increasing rice production trend.

Head of Badanas Arief Prasetyo Adi said that when referring to the Area Sample Framework (KSA) compiled by the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), there is a trend of increasing domestic rice production, especially in August and September.

Where the amount of rice production in August can reach 2.66 million tons and in September it will increase to 2.96 million tons. From this figure, it has shown an escalation trend of production because the projected production of rice in June is still at 2.06 million tons and in July 2.18 million tons.

"We at the National Food Agency will ensure that the Government's Food Reserve stock is always filled and saved, especially rice. We make sure Bulog will continue to absorb rice from domestic farmers and on the other hand also continue to flush interventions to the market and the community so that food stability is maintained," said Arief in an official statement, Tuesday, July 23.

Arief said the position of the rice stock managed by Perum Bulog was still securities as much as 1.5 million tons. In addition, there is also rice stock at the Cipinang Rice Main Market as much as 46,900 tons and 7,300 tons of which are stored as Regional Government Food Reserves (CPPD).

In addition, Arief said that his party also guaranteed that the Farmer's Exchange Rate (NTP) would be maintained. Where, the NTP for food crop sub-sectors (NTPP) continues to be maintained by the government at more than 100.
