How Come The State Revenue In February 2021 Is Higher Than The Last Year Before The Pandemic?

JAKARTA - Minister of Finance (Menkeu) Sri Mulyani emphasized that state revenue until February 2021 reached IDR 219.2 trillion or 12.6 percent of the projected revenue this year.

The income realization actually increased from the same period the previous year amounting to IDR 217.6 trillion. that is, the country's revenue in the first two months of this year is better than the period before the 2020 pandemic.

"This is a positive development and we will continue to pay careful attention to the process of economic recovery by accelerating the use of the state budget", Sri Mulyani said at a press conference for our state budget, Tuesday, March 23.

In her presentation, the Minister of Finance explained that tax revenue was recorded at IDR 146.1 trillion or down from the books at the end of February 2020 which amounted to IDR 153.6 trillion.

Then, the state revenue in terms of customs and excise is known to be IDR 35.6 trillion until February 2021. This figure has shot up 42.1 percent compared to the same period the previous year with IDR 25.1 trillion.

Meanwhile, Non-Tax State Revenues (PNBP) grew negatively by 3.7 percent to IDR 37.3 trillion or lower than February 2020 which amounted to IDR 38.8 trillion.

Another sector that has become a source of state revenue grants, which were recorded at IDR 100 billion, less than previously at IDR 200 billion.

"State revenue has grown positively, mainly supported by increased customs and excise revenues. This can be seen from the support for excise growth, taxes from rising commodity prices, and the coming into effect of import duties", she said.

Meanwhile, in terms of state expenditure, the Minister of Finance stated that it reached IDR 282.7 trillion, an increase of 1.2 percent from last year's realization.

"This total expenditure is 10.3 percent of the total state expenditure allocated for 2021, which amounts to IDR 2.750 trillion", she added.
