KPUPR Ensures Clean Water Will Be Fully Distributed At IKN On August 17

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) ensures that clean water will begin to be distributed entirely in the buildings of the Capital City of the Archipelago (IKN) on August 17.

It is known, on August 17, President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) will hold the 79th Indonesian Independence Anniversary Ceremony at IKN.

This was conveyed by the Spokesperson for the Ministry of PUPR Endra S Atmawidjaja when met by reporters in the Kuningan area, South Jakarta, Wednesday, July 31.

"We are still trying to get all of them back on August 17 (August 2024)," he said.

Endra ensured that the clean water could be utilized on August 17.

His party is currently completing the trial process.

"Yes, it's been drunk, that's it, with the Minister (Basuki Hadimuljono). It's just a matter of passing it to the files. Right, this is what we are currently commissioning (trial)," said Endra.

Previously, the Ministry of PUPR had completed the 3rd water flow test process from the Sepaku Drinking Water Processing Installation (IPA) to the IKN parent reservoir.

Thus, in the near future, drinking water can be directly accessed through the tap.

This 3rd Running test took place from Saturday, July 20 to Monday morning, July 22, 2024.

This test is an important part of the operation of the Sepaku Drinking Water Supply System (SPAM) to serve drinking water needs at IKN.

After the flow running is successful, system and network drains are currently being carried out while closely monitoring the water quality in the piping network to ensure the quality of drinking water in accordance with applicable health standards.

The Minister of PUPR and Acting Head of the IKN Authority (OIKN) Basuki Hadimuljono revealed that the water is ready to drink water.

It is hoped that by the end of July 2024, SPAM Sepaku can fully operate serving parcels and buildings at IKN.

"This is drinking water, not just clean water. The water from the tap of the apartment and house in IKN can be drunk immediately. We continue to check the quality of the water before entering the reservoir. We hope that this drinking water can be used in the next few days," said Basuki in a written statement, quoted Wednesday, July 24.
