JAKARTA - The Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs is collaborating with the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia (ERIA) research institute to support Indonesia in increasing international economic cooperation.
Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said the cooperation was to deepen studies on the OECD accession process, improve supply chains from the semiconductor industry to expand the automotive and battery industry markets.
Meanwhile, ERIA is one of the think tank institutions that focuses on study studies and policy recommendations for the ASEAN region and East Asia.
"Today we witnessed the arrival of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the ERIA or the Economic Research Institute for ASEAN and East Asia. Airlangga explained that the signing of the cooperation includes the first, a joint study of Indonesian accession to become a member of the OECD and a Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for the Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP).
"Regarding OECD and CPTPP, ERIA will conduct a review of the benefits, simulations of PMO scenarios and formation (Project Management Office) rather than OECD," he explained.
Furthermore, the second is cooperation in establishing the ASEAN Zero Emission Center which will be inaugurated at the end of August 2024.
