JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) has completed the 3rd water flow test process from the Sepaku Drinking Water Processing Installation (IPA) to the main reservoir of the capital city of the archipelago (IKN).
Thus, in the near future, drinking water can be directly accessed through the tap.
This 3rd Running test took place from Saturday, July 20 to Monday morning, July 22, 2024.
This test is an important part of the operation of the Sepaku Drinking Water Supply System (SPAM) to serve drinking water needs at IKN.
After the flow running is successful, system and network drains are currently being carried out while closely monitoring the water quality in the piping network to ensure the quality of drinking water in accordance with applicable health standards.
The Minister of PUPR and Acting Head of the IKN Authority (OIKN) Basuki Hadimuljono revealed that the water is ready to drink water.
Thus, people will be able to drink from tap water directly.
It is hoped that by the end of July 2024, SPAM Sepaku can fully operate serving parcels and buildings at IKN.

SPAM Sepaku IKN itself consists of an IPA with a capacity of 300 liters per second, a transmission pipe of 16 kilometers (km), reservoirs and a distribution pipe of 22 km.
SPAM Sepaku phase I is targeted to serve the Office and Palace of the President, Kemensetneg, Paspampres, the Ministry of Coordinating Ministry complex 1,2,3 and 4, Amphitheater, Gallery, Service Area, ASN Residential, Ministerial Position Tax House (RTJM) and other public facilities such as hotels, schools, shops and hospitals.
