Director General Of Budget Opens Voice About Plans To Increase Civil Servant Salaries In 2025

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Finance (Kemenkeu) has opened its voice regarding the plan to increase the salaries of civil servants (PNS) by 2025.

The Director General of Budget at the Ministry of Finance Isa Rachmatarwata explained that the adjustment of the salaries of state civil servants (ASN) to the State Revenue and Expenditure Budget (APBN) for Fiscal Year 2025 could be in various forms.

"The adjustment can take many forms. It can increase the basic salary, adjust the improvement of performance allowances, or provide other incentives," said Isa quoting Antara.

However, Isa said the plan was still in the process of being discussed. Certainty the plan to increase ASN salaries will be submitted during the Financial Note on August 16.

"We'll talk about it first. We'll just wait for August 16, it will be conveyed," he added.

Previously, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto confirmed the plan to increase the salaries of civil servants (PNS) by 2025.

"Yes (plan to increase), adjusted," said Airlangga in Jakarta, Friday (19/7).

The plan is contained in the Macroeconomic Framework document and the 2025 Fiscal Policy Principles (KEM-PPKF) Update Edition.

In the document, it is stated that the restructuring of personnel spending is one of the fiscal policy directions for 2025 to fulfill employee spending.

The government plans to restructure employee spending which only includes salaries and attached allowances, regional performance allowances, as well as pension fees and National Health Insurance (JKN).

In addition to adjusting salaries, the government also plans to save on the components of personnel spending by adjusting employment policies, among others, through the preparation of civil servant formations.

This is based on the analysis of positions and/or analysis of employee needs, the implementation of policies to reduce the number of employees gradually (minus growth), and the implementation of employee transfer policies between regions.

As for 2024, the government has increased ASN salaries by 8 percent, provided THR with a 100 percent performance allowance, and 13th salary.
