JAKARTA - Pertamina New & Renewable Energy (Pertamina NRE) officially signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Bangladesh Limited's Coal Power Generation Company (CPGCBL) for a Solar Power Plant (PLTS) project with a capacity of 500 MW in the Moheshkhali area and in various other areas potential in Bangladesh.
The signing of the MoU is a follow-up to the MoU government-to-government (G2G) signed between Indonesia and Bangladesh in 2017, and has gone through a feasibility study by these two energy companies.
The MoU also includes the construction of supporting facilities and becomes the basis for developing other cooperation based on the conditions and conditions agreed together. This strategic collaboration marks a step towards the use of solutions and the development of renewable energy infrastructure in Bangladesh.

CPGCBL through Managing Director Abul Kalam expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration with Pertamina NRE.
"We are very enthusiastic about this collaboration, Pertamina NRE already has experience and a fairly capable clean energy business portfolio in Indonesia, hopefully this collaboration can encourage the development of clean energy in Bangladesh and be mutually beneficial for both parties," said Abul.
Bangladesh Limited (CPGCBL) Coal Power Generation Company, a company owned by the Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, was founded as a public company with the main business goal of generating electricity.
The company has a mandate to implement a power generation development scheme under Bangladesh' Private Sector Power Plant Policy, Public-Swasta Partnership Policy (PPP), or other government policy frameworks.
The signing of the MoU between CPGCBL and Pertamina NRE is an important milestone on the journey towards a sustainable energy future for Bangladesh.
