JAKARTA - PT Pelindo Solusi Logistik (SPSL) as the Pelindo Port BUMN Subholding in the logistics and hinterland development cluster signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with four international logistics companies.
The four logistics companies are members of The International Federation of Freight Forwarders Association (FIATA) from Thailand, Vietnam, India, and Malaysia. The signing is an important moment for the SPSL Group's expansion into the international market.
"The signing of this MoU marks a new chapter of our efforts to expand the reach of the SPSL Group service. This collaboration will expand the SPSL network in the provision of export-import and freight forwarding services in Asia, especially in Thailand, Vietnam, India and Malaysia," said SPSL President Director Joko Noerhudha in his statement in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Monday, July 15.
He hopes that the new collaboration can expand the market potential of the logistics sector in the Asia Pacific region more optimally.
The four companies involved in the cooperation are Profreight Logistics, Co. Ltd (Thailand), MCC Container Line Pvt. Ltd (India), International Logistics Corporation (Vietnam), and Eastrex Logistics Sdn. Bhd (Malaysia).
The signing was carried out by the President Director of SPSL Joko Noerhudha (Indonesia) together with Suwit Ratanachinda (Thailand), Chua Seng Wah (Malaysia), Nguyen Duy Minh (Vietnam), and Tej C (India) at The International Federation of Freight Forwarders Associations-Regional Asia Pacific (FIATA-RAP) Meeting 2024 and Rapimnas DPP Association Logistics and Indonesian Forwarders (ALFI) in Nusa Dua, Bali on 11-12 July 2024.
According to Noerhudha, the cooperation aims to increase logistics partnerships based on the potential of each company. "This is one way to expand access to goods in and out of Indonesia through the SPSL Group," he said.
Noerhudha said that those who signed the MoU would also visit SPSL facilities in Indonesia.

The cooperation built is also in line with the remarks of Vice President (Wapres) Ma'ruf Amin which was delivered virtually at the opening of the FIATA-RAP Meeting 2024.
According to the Vice President, the potential for the logistics industry in the Asia Pacific Region is very large. "Supported by positive economic growth, high investment, and increasing trading volume, this region plays a strategic role in global trade," said the Vice President.
The vice president also highlighted that Asia Pacific is home to the nine largest container ports in the world, which is projected to continue to grow.
