JAKARTA - Minister of Tourism and Creative Economy (Menparekraf) Sandiaga Salahuddin Uno ensured that the government had formed a task force (task force) to reduce aircraft ticket prices, as an effort to create more efficient aircraft ticket prices in Indonesia.

"It has been held a coordination meeting, and has been ordered there are nine steps ahead, including the formation of a task force for the reduction (price) of aircraft tickets," Sandiaga said as quoted by ANTARA, Sunday, July 14.

He explained that the task force consisted of the Coordinating Ministry for Economic Affairs (Kemenko Perekonomian), the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Kemenko Marves), and other related Ministries/Institutions (K/L).

On this occasion, he said, it was not only Avtur fuel that contributed to making airplane ticket prices expensive in the country.

However, he continued, there are other aspects such as tax burdens to operational costs.

"So, it will all be studied and will be ensured that our aviation industry is efficient, such as the overseas aviation industry," said Sandiaga.

Previously, Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan said he was preparing flight efficiency steps to lower plane ticket prices, one of which was related to the evaluation of aircraft cost operations.

"We have prepared several steps for flight efficiency and lower ticket prices, such as evaluating aircraft costs operations," said Luhut.

Luhut explained that the Cost Per Block Hour (CBH), which is the largest component of aircraft operating costs, needs to be identified with details of its formation.

"We are also formulating a strategy to reduce the value of CBH, based on aircraft types and flight services," said Luhut.
