Rano Karno: Utilization Of Seaweed As Fuel Is Difficult

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta KPU held a third and final debate between the candidate pair for governor and deputy governor in the 2024 DKI Pilkada at the Sultan Hotel, Central Jakarta, Sunday night.

Another subtema in this debate is reducing emissions and air pollution as well as transitioning renewable energy. Furthermore, the availability of clean water and a habitable city and the arrangement of green open spaces.

In the debate, cagub number 2, Dharma said, the use of seaweed as a good vehicle fuel for emission reduction in Jakarta, rather than the idea of opening a floating gas station that Rano had raised in the second debate.

Responding to this, Rano or called Bang Doel emphasized that floating gas stations are needed by residents in the Thousand Islands to make it easier for them to transport between islands.

"People really need floating gas stations. There used to be, but because of the pandemic (COVID-19), floating gas stations had to close. This is what makes sea transportation between islands in the Thousand Islands stagnate," said Rano, as quoted by Antara.

Candidate for Deputy Governor of DKI Jakarta number 3 Rano Karno said the idea of a candidate for governor number 2 Dharma Pongrekun regarding the use of seaweed as vehicle fuel in the Thousand Islands was interesting but difficult to implement.

"Ide is interesting but my experience in Banten Province, seaweed is very difficult to fuel for transportation. It is a bit difficult but it takes time and technology," he said in the third debate of the 2024 Jakarta Pilkada in Jakarta.

He said the presence of the floating gas station was the most effective and efficient considering that the transportation fleet was still there. "There is still a fleet, we just need to renovate it," said Bang Doel.

Rano added that he and his partner, Pramono Anung, will also carry out strict supervision to prevent the BBM mafia from taking action.
