JAKARTA - Member of Commission VII DPR RI, Mulyanto, asked President Joko Widodo to regulate the coordination and communication of ministers regarding the plan to limit the distribution of subsidized fuel.

According to him, do not let a number of ministers have different opinions regarding the same policy so that it will confuse the public and have the potential to cause price speculation in the field.

"The government should coordinate well before discussing this matter to the public. Do not let the Minister of Finance, Coordinating Minister for the Economy and Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries be different," said Mulyanto, quoted on Saturday, July 13.

Mulyanto admitted that he was surprised because the socialization of the distribution of subsidized fuel was confusing. He reminded the government to immediately bring this problem to order so that people do not think that certain parties want to take advantage of the subsidized fuel restriction policy.

"It is very strange that the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Fisheries also gave a statement about the plan to increase the price of this subsidized fuel. There should be enough related ministers who become spokesmans, not Menkomarves, so that it fits," said Mulyanto.

He added that if it was true that the Government would limit subsidized fuel, it should have prepared an adequate monitoring system. Do not let subsidized fuel be limited but the distribution is still not on target.

"The government must be able to ensure that the restrictions on fuel do not cause an impact that harms the purchasing power of the lower class. Do not let the poor get poorer, as a result of the restrictions on the purchase of this subsidized fuel," said Mulyanto.

The Deputy Chairman of the FPKS DPR RI asked the Government to make a formulation of vehicle criteria that can and cannot buy this subsidized fuel clearly.

According to him, the implementation of MyPertamina and digital nozzle has been very helpful but there are still many leaks outside of it.
