Trade Minister Zulhas Ensures Stable Prices Of Basic Materials In Jambi

JAKARTA - Minister of Trade (Mendag) Zulkifli Hasan ensured that the price of basic commodities in Jambi City was stable below the government's reference price by directly visiting the traditional market of Talang Banjar.

"In Jambi, all prices are under reference or HET, instead of deflation, not inflation, the price is cheap," said Trade Minister Zulkifli Hasan in Jambi, quoted from Antara, Saturday, July 13.

On that occasion, Zulhas toured the Talang Banjar market. Accompanied by the Governor of Jambi, the Acting Mayor of Jambi and Forkopimda chatted with traders at the market.

Zulhas emphasized that it is the government's duty to regulate food price stability so that farmers do not lose and buyers or consumers also buy food needs, not too expensive.

As for price monitoring at Talang Market, Banjar, Saturday, among others, red chilies are sold at a price of Rp. 28 thousand to Rp. 35 thousand per kilogram, shallots of Rp. 26 thousand to Rp. 28 thousand per kilogram, green cayenne pepper of Rp. 50 thousand per kilogram, garlic of Rp. 35 thousand per kilogram.

"Earlier, we saw that the price of red chilies was IDR 28 thousand, while the dry one was IDR 25 thousand, the standard was IDR 42 thousand, the garlic was IDR 35 thousand, the onion was IDR 26 thousand, the standard was IDR 42 thousand, and the chicken was IDR 30 to IDR 33 thousand, the standard was IDR 37.5 thousand and in Jambi the price was below the benchmark price," he said.

Meanwhile, from data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS) June 2024, Jambi Province experienced deflation.

BPS noted that Kerinci Regency experienced deflation of 0.45 percent, Muaro Bungo by 0.14 percent and Jambi City by 0.04 percent.

BPS assesses that the local government must continue to pay attention to it. Deflation must also be controlled so that inflation in Jambi Province is targeted at 2.5 plus minus one.

The commodities that participate in curbing the inflation rate in Jambi Province are broiler meat at 0.17 percent, onions 0.16 percent, rice 0.06 percent,rai fish 0.04 percent, kale 0.02 percent, tomatoes 0.02 percent, air transportation 0.02 percent.
