Airplane Ticket Prices To Singapore In 2 Years Will Be More Expensive, This Is The Cause

JAKARTA - Director General of New Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation (EBTKE) of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, Eniya Listiani Dewi said Indonesia's flight ticket price to Singapore would be even more expensive.

The reason is, the white lion country enforces rules for the use of bioavtur for aircraft flying from the country as of January 1, 2026.

"Flying to Singapore as of January 1, 2026, tickets will be more expensive. Why? Our plane comes to Changi Airport, the return ticket will be much more expensive, because it has required 1 bioavtur perseb," said Eniy, quoted on Friday, July 5.

Eniya said that later the price of bioavtur would be charged to passenger ticket prices. Although increasingly expensive, Eniya actually sees this as a promising business potential.

For that, he said, Indonesia needs to be prepared if you want to apply the same obligation to use environmentally friendly aircraft fuel.

Eniya said that currently, the state-owned oil and gas company owned by Indonesia, Pertamina, has been preparing to investigate the use of palm based bioavtur in the country.

"We have to see this as a potential business, one challenge. So we really have to prepare. Now it's global, the situation is interrelated," said Eniya.

To strengthen this step, he continued, roadmaps for the use of bioavtur have been prepared at the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime Affairs and Investment (Kemenkomarves) and several related ministries have also provided input for the use of bioavtur in the Indonesian aviation industry.

Just so you know, the development of bioavtur in Indonesia has been carried out by Pertamina together with the Bandung Institute of Technology (ITB) by producing J 2.4 fuel with a plant-based fuel content of 2.4 percent. The test has also been carried out on the CN 235-220 FTB plane on the Bandung-Jakarta route in September 2021.

Most recently, in 2023 Pertamina Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) was successfully piloted on Garuda Indonesia's commercial flight on the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport route to Adi Soemarmo International Airport.
