PT Angkasa Pura I Lombok Airport, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB) opened a direct flight route from Lombok to Balikpapan, East Kalimantan and vice versa, July 3, 2024.

The inaugural flight of this route was marked by the arrival of 205 passengers from Balikpapan who were greeted with the ceremonial "water salute" shortly after landing at Lombok Airport at 14.00 WITA.

"We welcome the presence of this new flight route for Lombok Airport service users because it makes it easier for travelers, tourists, and businessmen from Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara to go to Balikpapan, East Kalimantan, and the capital city of Nusantara (IKN) and vice versa," he said.

Barata also expressed his appreciation and gratitude to the airline and the ranks of the NTB Provincial Government for opening this new route.

The Lombok-Balikpapan route and vice versa operates with flight frequency three times a week every Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday.

The flight schedule will depart from Lombok at 14.50 WITA and is scheduled to arrive in Balikpapan at 16.30 WITA.

Meanwhile, from Balikpapan, the plane will take off at 12.30 WITA and land in Lombok at 14.10 WITA.

"This flight will use a fleet of Boeing aircraft with a capacity of 215 seats and a 7 kilogram free cabin baggage facility and 20 kilograms of baggage," he said.

With this Lombok-Balikpapan route, Lombok Airport currently serves eight regular domestic flight routes, namely Jakarta, Surabaya, Yogyakarta, Bali, Bima, Sumbawa Besar, Makassar, and Balikpapan.

As for international flights, there are currently two routes, namely the destination of Kuala Lumpur and the destination of Singapore.
