PLN Installs SPKLU In North Barito, Central Kalimantan

PT PLN will immediately install infrastructure for public electric vehicle charging stations (SPKLU) for electric cars and motorcycles in Muara Teweh, North Barito Regency, Central Kalimantan.

"This SPKLU is to support the efforts of the central government in using electric cars to preserve the environment," said North Barito Regent Muhlis in Muara Teweh, quoted from Antara, Sunday, June 30.

According to him, the North Barito Regency Government is ready to support PLN for SPKLU in order to spur people to buy electric vehicles to preserve the environment in the future.

"Although it is not easy to move from the habit of using conventional vehicles to electric vehicles," he said.

UP3 manager Kuala Kapuas Eka Wijayanto said this year his party installed SPKLU for an electric car program in North Barito which is in accordance with the mandate of President Joko Widodo.

"Currently, there are official vehicles in North Barito that use electric cars, of course, they can be an example for other districts in the Central Kalimantan region," he said.

He said his party would prepare infrastructure to fill electric car batteries easily without worrying about running out of power while traveling or on an official trip.

For charging electric vehicles, he said, in the North Barito Regency area, it is planned to be installed in the courtyard of the North Barito Regent's office.

"The installation of this SPKLU will be carried out this year or in the second semester," he said.

This year's PLN program in North Barito includes accelerating the construction of PLN towers in Tumpung Laung, Montallat District, strengthening the electricity system in this area, the construction of SPKLU, village electricity and road lighting tax cooperation agreements (PPJ).
