Garuda Indonesia Enters The Best Companies In Southeast Asia

JAKARTA - Garuda Indonesia's national airline is included in the ranks of the best companies in Southeast Asia by Fortune Southeast Asia 500 2024.

President Director of Garuda Indonesia, Irfan Setiaputra, said that his airline occupies the 105th position in the bookkeeping achievement of consolidated operating revenues for the 2023 fiscal year, which amounted to 2.94 billion US dollars or grew 40 percent compared to the previous year in the same period.

"With the recognition of the company's performance achievements throughout 2023, of course, it is an encouragement for companies to continue to strengthen their sustainable performance in order to maximize their potential income in the midst of the aviation industry which is now starting to be competitive again," said Irfan in a statement in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Thursday, June 20.

This achievement is the first time for Garuda Indonesia after the completion of the restructuring process at the end of 2022. In 2023, Garuda will receive a profit of 251 million US dollars.

In addition to efforts to increase operating income that continues to be optimized, the 2023 performance year has also become a milestone for Garuda Indonesia in implementing various corporate actions and sustainable initiatives.

Irfan said that this achievement is expected to be in line with the company's focus on becoming an adaptive and profitable aviation business.

In line with Garuda Indonesia's performance performance performance in 2023, this year a number of developments have also been improved, including plans to gradually increase eight fleets to support the acceleration of the increase in the frequency of flight numbers and the expansion of domestic and international flight networks.

In addition, there is also the introduction of New Wireless Inflight Entertainment services in two narrow body fleets (PK-GUD and PK-GUE), and other additional premium services which are expected to improve the smooth and comfortable flight of service users together with Garuda Indonesia.
