JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) targets the construction of roads and bridges on the Buton-Klarak Bay section in Natuna Regency, Riau Islands, to be completed in December this year.

PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono said the construction of the Buton-Klarik Bay section was built according to national standards, namely a width of 11 meters (m) with a hardness of 5.5 m and a shoulder of 2.75 meters right and left.

The construction of roads and bridges for the Buton-Klarak Bay section is sourced from State Sharia Securities (SBSN) for the 2024 fiscal year (TA) amounting to Rp95.3 billion.

"In addition to connecting between regions in Natuna Regency, the handling of Jalan Teluk Buton-Klarik is also expected to open regional isolation and support tourism areas in Buton Bay and Klarik, such as Tanjung Getah Beach Tourism Destinations," he said.

In general, the national road segment in Riau Islands Province has a length of 429.7 km and for Natuna Island it is 114.7 km with road occupancy conditions reaching 99.13 percent.
