The Minister Of Transportation Calls The Need For An Efficient Port Service Industry To Realize Indonesia Gold 2045

Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Budi Karya Sumadi assessed the need for the development of an efficient and sustainable port industry, to support the achievement of the vision of Indonesia Gold 2024.

This was conveyed by the Minister of Transportation while attending the National Seminar and the National Working Meeting of the Association of Indonesian Port Business Entities (ABUPI) in 2024 in Jakarta, Thursday, June 6.

Moreover, continued Budi, the port is the gateway to economic activity and plays an important role in the national logistics distribution chain.

"Therefore, the development of an efficient and sustainable port service industry is the key in supporting the achievement of the vision of Indonesia Gold 2045," Budi said in an official statement, Thursday, June 6.

Along with the development of globalization and technological advances, continued Budi, the port service industry in Indonesia is required to continue to innovate and improve efficiency. Therefore, several important things need to be done by port industry players in the face of technological developments and globalization.

First, continued Budi, the modernization of port infrastructure must continue to be carried out to increase capacity and operational efficiency.

"Technology in port management is very important to increase transparency, speed, and service accuracy," he added.

Second, the development of reliable and competent human resources must be a priority. For this reason, according to Budi, continuous training and education for the workforce needs to be continuously improved in order to be able to face increasingly complex industrial challenges and demands.

Furthermore, Budi also encourages collaboration and synergy between the government, industry players, academics, and the community to create a competitive port ecosystem. Synergy between stakeholders will also encourage the creation of innovations and solutions in facing various challenges.

Finally, Budi emphasized the need for high service standards and adaptation to global best practices.

"We must be able to make Indonesia a logistics hub in the Southeast Asia region," said the Minister of Transportation.

Budi also invited all stakeholders in the port industry to jointly commit to realizing the vision of Indonesia Gold 2045 with full dedication and integrity.

"With hard work, innovation and close cooperation, I believe the Indonesian port services industry will be able to become a solid bridge to Indonesia Gold 2045," concluded the Minister of Transportation.
