JAKARTA - Special Staff (Stafsus) of the Minister of SOEs Arya Sinulingga said that the losses suffered by PT Kimia Farma (Persero) Tbk were the result of engineering in the company's financial statements.

As is known, the issuer coded KAEF shares posted a net loss in 2023 of IDR 1.48 trillion.

This figure swelled compared to the previous year which recorded a loss of Rp190.4 billion.

"Kimia Farma is the same way, there is this, financial engineering," he said when met at Graha 24 Pegadaian, Jakarta, Wednesday, June 5.

Arya explained that the engineering in question was related to distribution. He said that the alleged indication was obtained from the company's internal Audit.

"If this (Kimia Farma) is engineered, it inflates. For example, distributions and so on. It's as if everything is selling is good, but it's not. His son is in KAEF," he explained.

Another problem with Kimia Farma, continued Arya, is the number of factories. He said, this factory is not efficient and instead burdens the company's finances.

"Besides that, KAEF also has problems with its factories. Most factories, not efficient. Therefore, of the 10 factories, only five factories will be managed," he said.

Arya said the Ministry of SOEs could also submit the Kimia Farma case to the Attorney General's Office (AGO) for further handling.

"Yes, it could be (handed over to the AGO). This (is) being audited, after that it was brought there. While we are efficient," he said.

Regarding the reshuffle of directors at BUMN Pharmacy, Arya said that until now the Ministry of SOEs has no plans for it.

"No, not yet. If he is caught, he is in the process, just like that," he concluded.
