AP II-Owned Airport Has Departed 61,988 Indonesian Hajj Candidates

PT Angkasa Pura (AP) II as the manager of airports in Indonesia has dispatched 61,988 pilgrims in 149 flying groups to the Holy Land during the period 12-30 May 2024.

Pgs. SVP of Corporate Secretary AP II Cin Asmoro said that from the departure of 61,988 hajj candidates, 66.05 percent of the total hajj candidates planned to depart from six AP II airports on 12 May-10 June 2024, as many as 95,076 Hajj candidates in 231 batches.

"The departure of prospective hajj candidates from AP II airport is still ongoing until June 10, 2024, and we ensure that all operational and service facilities can always be ready. Collaboration continues with all parties, including airlines and ground handling, and we are grateful for the support of the Ministry of Religion, Ministry of Transportation, TNI and Polri," he said, quoted from Antara, Monday, June 3.

As for the period 12-30 May 2024, Soekarno-Hatta Airport, which is the largest and busiest airport in Indonesia, has served the departure of 34,584 prospective hajj candidates in 82 groups.

The prospective pilgrims who departed from Soekarno-Hatta Airport came from Pondok Gede Hajj Dormitory and Bekasi Hajj Dormitory.

At Soekarno-Hatta Airport, prospective pilgrims can go through the Makkah Route fast track facility to process Saudi Arabia's immigration.

Meanwhile, the number of Hajj candidates departing from Kertajati Airport (Majalengka) as of May 30, 2024 was 8,354 Hajj candidates from 19 groups, out of 30 plots planned to depart from Kertajati.

"Fasilitas yang mempermudah akses seperti escalator dan elevator, lalu juga tempat ibadah dan fasilitas umum lainnya kami pastikan siap," tuturnya.

Then at Kualanamu Airport (Deli Serdang) the number of prospective hajj candidates departing as of May 30, 2024 was 5,708 hajj candidates in 16 groups. Then, at Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II Airport (Palembang) there were 6,274 hajj candidates in 14 groups.

"The collaboration with all stakeholders at Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II Airport is going well on the 2024 Hajj transportation. We hope that all departure flights will run smoothly," he said.

The number of Hajj candidates departing from Minangkabau Airport (Padang) as of May 30, 2024 was 6,282 Hajj candidates in 16 groups.

"The departure of prospective hajj candidates from Minangkabau Airport has reached 90 percent of the total planned, and flights are relatively running well," he said.

At Sultan Iskandar Muda Airport (Aceh), the prospective pilgrims departing on 29-30 May 2024 were 786 out of 2 groups.

"The first batch of Hajj candidates departed on May 29 from Sultan Iskandar Muda Airport, where their departure was also released by the Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia. It is planned that a total of 12 groups will depart," he said.

The six airports that are the departure of prospective hajj candidates are Soekarno-Hatta Airport (Tangerang), Kertajati Airport (Majalengka), Kualanamu Airport (Deli Serdang), Sultan Mahmud Badaruddin II Airport (Palembang), Minangkabau Airport (Padang) and Sultan Iskandar Muda Airport (Aceh).
