PUPR Minister Basuki Hadimuljono Positive For ARN Candidacy As Head Of GAPENSI

JAKARTA - Secretary General of the Central Executive Board for the Indonesian National Construction Implementation Association (BPP GAPENSI), Andi Rukman Nurdin (ARN), conducted a Roadshow Around Indonesia. Unexpectedly on the trip, ARN met with the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR), Basuki Hadimuljono, at Soekarno-Hatta Airport, Tangerang.

During this meeting, ARN talked about the current condition of the construction service sector and invited the Minister of PUPR to attend the XV BPP GAPENSI National Conference (Munas) which will be held on June 5-7 at the Bidakara Hotel.

"I convey the current condition of construction services and some of the struggles we have carried out both through the DPR, DPD, MPR RI, KPK and the government. Even though it has not produced as expected, we continue to fight for the empowerment of MSMEs in the construction service sector throughout Indonesia and will comply with existing regulations," said ARN, in his statement, Sunday, June 2.

Minister Basuki Hadimuljono expressed his appreciation for the efforts made by GAPENSI.

"I appreciate the struggle that was carried out and I, God willing, will be present at the upcoming National Conference. PUPR continues to provide construction service coaching and I have known GAPENSI for a long time and interacted with Mr. Andi (ARN). God willing, I will attend the GAPENSI National Conference," said Minister Basuki.

ARN also expressed its intention to run as a candidate for the General Chair of the GAPENSI BPP for the 2024-2029 period.

"I report my intention to try to become a candidate for the General Chair of the GAPENSI BPP for the 2024-2029 period, and Mr. Basuki responded positively to this, seeing that I have long joined the GAPENSI, he also hopes that the GAPENSI National Conference will run peacefully, maintain boredom, and togetherness in raising GAPENSI as a partner of the government," added ARN.

On this occasion, ARN also hopes that in the remaining term of office of Minister Basuki, there will be more affirmative actions against construction service business actors, especially MSMEs throughout Indonesia.

"I hope that Mr. Basuki in the remaining term of office will provide more affirmativeity to construction service business actors, especially MSMEs throughout Indonesia," said ARN.

As a candidate for General Chair, ARN stated that GAPENSI will be ready to cooperate with the government, especially in the infrastructure program that will be implemented by the elected president, Prabowo Subianto.

"GAPENSI will certainly be ready to cooperate with the government, especially in infrastructure programs that will be implemented later by the elected president Prabowo Subianto," said ARN.

Closing the meeting, ARN gave the highest appreciation to Minister Basuki for his services during his two terms as Minister of PUPR.

"I appreciate Pak Basuki's performance as Minister of PUPR. He has built a lot of massive infrastructure. However, we also cannot deny that the empowerment of MSMEs for construction services has not been maximized, especially in the IKN development program which continues to be sustainable. We hope that infrastructure targets in the era of Mr. President Jokowi can be achieved completely before being continued by the new cabinet later, for the achievements of the government in the era of Pak Jokowi GAPENSI will give awards as the Father of Indonesian Infrastructure," concluded ARN.
