The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) has completed the arrangement of four leading tourist destinations in the Wakatobi National Tourism Strategic Area (KSPN), Southeast Sulawesi (Sulteng).

The four tourist destinations are Sombu Dive, Puncak Toliamba, Lake Kapota and Square Merdeka.

The Toliamba Peak itself offers beautiful views of the islands scattered around the Wakatobi Islands from the Toliamba Plateau in Waginopo Village.

Then, Sombu Dive Beach, known for its underwater beauty, is one of the diving tourist spots in Sombu Village.

"Infrastructure support carried out by the Ministry of PUPR includes piers, training pools, restaurants, souvenir kiosks, exhibition rooms and plaza areas (open spaces)," he said.

Then, Lake Kapota or known as Lake Tailaronto'oge serves educational tourism surrounded by mangrove trees.

Support for facilities and infrastructure include the construction of ticketing areas, pedestrian paths, gazebos and viewing towers.

Next, Merdeka Square. The arrangement of the independent square is designed as a center for community activities with open spaces for various events.

This area is equipped with open-stage facilities, lots of luwa, local culinary kiosks as well as landscape arrangement and pedestrian paths.

"The arrangement of the Wakatobi tourist area is expected to strengthen the local economy, increase tourist visits and encourage investment in the tourism sector while maintaining cultural values and preserving nature," he added.
