Minister Basuki Calls IKN Toll Road Will Directly Implement MLFF System

JAKARTA - The IKN Toll Road will immediately implement a contactless non-cash toll road transaction system or Multi Lane Free Flow (MLFF).

This was conveyed by the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono when met at the Media Briefing & Talk Show "Driving Forwards A Brighter Future: The Evolution of Indonesian Transportation For Accelerated Accessibility at the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC), Tuesday, May 28.

"I think so," said Basuki.

However, Basuki said that at this early stage, the IKN Toll Road would only implement the Single Lane Free Flow (SLFF).

"If our IKN Toll Road is immediately SLFF," he continued.

The gradual implementation of MLFF starting from SLFF with a barrier is a process of transforming the toll transaction system, so it can be more easily evaluated if deficiencies are found.

In addition to the IKN Toll Road, the implementation of SLFF with a barrier is also carried out on other toll roads that will use MLFF, such as the Bali Mandara Toll Road.

On the same occasion, President Director of PT Roatex Indonesia Toll System (RITS) Attila Keszeg targets that MLFF will be implemented in the fourth quarter of 2024.

"RITS as the implementing enterprise (BUP) of the MLFF program is ready to implement the system according to the schedule targeted by the government, starting in the fourth quarter of this year," he said.

The MLFF is the latest technology in the world that processes payments automatically for vehicles passing on toll roads.

Through this technology, toll road users can enter and leave without having to stop to pay.
