JAKARTA - Minister of Trade (Mendag) Zulkifli Hasan said the highest retail price (HET) of people's cooking oil or Minya Kita was time to increase.

The Trade Minister said that the change in the HET Minya Kita needed to be made because the HET had been running for two years.

Regarding the number of increases, Zulkifli said that HET was only estimated to be in the range of Rp. 15,000 to Rp. 15,500.
Currently, HET Minya Kita is set at Rp. 14,000 per liter and bulk oil at Rp. 15,500 per kilogram. The regulation is stated in Circular Letter Number 03 of 2023 concerning Guidelines for Sales of People's Cooking Oil issued by the Directorate General of Domestic Trade of the Ministry of Trade.
Previously, the Ministry of Trade (Kemendag) said that the evaluation of the highest retail price (HET) of people's cooking oil or Minya Kita was expected to be completed before October 2024.
