JAKARTA - The SME assisted by PT Semen Indonesia (Persero) Tbk (SIG) and Astra through the Dharma Bhakti Astra Foundation (YDBA), CV Kawani Tekno Nusantara (Kawani), received a visit from the Expert Staff for Finance and MSME Development of the Ministry of SOEs, Loto Srinaita Ginting, at the CV Kawani workshop, Bandung, on Friday, May 24.

The visit was aimed at knowing the SME coaching activities carried out by SIG and YDBA so that they succeeded in increasing the Domestic Component Level (TKDN) of the SIG factory spare parts, as well as being one of the successful factors of GIS achieving an Award for Increasing the Use of Domestic Products (P3DN) from the Ministry of Industry for two consecutive years in 2023 and 2024.

Expert Staff for Finance and MSME Development at the Ministry of SOEs, Loto Srinaita Ginting, said that the Ministry of SOEs really appreciates the collaboration between SIG and YDBA which has provided guidance to SMEs to be able to produce spare parts of GIS factories to increase TKDN. As a state-owned company, GIS has shown its seriousness in carrying out the direction of the Ministry of SOEs in increasing the use of domestic products.

"The collaboration in which SIG has become an offtaker that gives CV Kawani the opportunity to produce a sparepart of the GIS Factory, by cooperating with YDBA, which has experience in assisting SMEs, is a good form of partnership. This can be an inspiration for SOEs and other companies to accelerate the achievement of increasing TKDN from products that have been imported," said Loto Srinaita Ginting.

The SME development program for increasing TKDN spare parts of the GIS factory is a realization of the cooperation agreement between SIG and YDBA in 2022. In this collaboration, GIS provides guidance in the form of product specifications education, assistance in the manufacture of prototypes, to trials and performance tests at the GIS factory, to YDBA fostered SMEs.

To date, as many as 8 SMEs have succeeded in producing 10 types of spare parts that are ready for use in SIG factories, one of which is CV Kawani which produces a SHAft impeller filling spout (the successor of the impeller rotary packer), a wedge cooler (the crossbar support device on the clinic cooler so it doesn't shift), and a roller pan conveyor (the steel wheel that builds up the pan surveyor). In fact, CV Kawani has received orders for 1,000 wedge cooler products for the PT Semen Gresik factory in Rembang.

SIG Operations Director, Reni Wulandari said, this visit is proof of the commitment of the Ministry of SOEs in the development of SMEs, as well as support for SIG to continue to improve TKDN spare parts based on SME development. This initiative is also expected to help create a sustainable supply chain, while increasing the Company's competitiveness by substitution of products that were previously imported.

"SIG wants to create a business ecosystem that helps Companies meet the needs of factory spare parts from the domestic industry. At the same time, GIS also provides added value to SMEs through increased capability in technical and economical sparepart production, as well as meeting industry standards so that they can not only be used in GIS factories but also by other companies," said Reni Wulandari.

Chairman of the YDBA Management, Rahmat Samulo said, that the collaboration between SIG and Astra in increasing TKDN involving SMEs is in line with Astra's spirit to continue collaborating to grow SMEs in the country. Samulo hopes that this collaboration can continue, even expanded by involving other BUMN companies and involving more fostered SMEs.

"Astra through YDBA also thanked the Ministry of SOEs, SIG and CV Kawani Tekno Nusantara for the ongoing collaboration. This collaboration will accelerate the movement of how SMEs to advance to class and collaboration is very important to raise SMEs for the better," said Samulo.
