JAKARTA - PT Jasa Marga (Persero) Tbk (JSMR) predicts that 780,679 vehicles will leave the Jabotabek area during the long holiday period for the 2024 Vesak Day or on Wednesday, May 22 to Sunday, May 26, 2024.

"The total volume of traffic leaving the Jabotabek area is predicted to increase by 6 percent compared to normal traffic (736,459 vehicles)," said Jasa Marga Marketing & Communication Department Head Faiza Riani in a written statement received by VOI, Wednesday, May 22.

For the distribution of traffic leaving Jabotabek towards the three directions, the majority were 345,834 vehicles (44.3 percent) heading East (Trans Java and Bandung), 237,373 vehicles (30.4 percent) headed West (Merak), and 197,472 vehicles (25.3 percent) headed South (Puncak).

"The highest traffic peak projection leaving Jabotabek will occur on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, amounting to 169,321 vehicles, an increase of 21.9 percent for normal traffic," he said.
