Finding New Gas Reserves In Lhokseumawe Must Be Beneficial To The People Of Aceh

Acting Governor of Aceh, Bustami Hamzah is optimistic that the findings of new gas reserves by Mubadala Energy at the Tangkulo-1 Aceh Well can provide benefits to the economy of the people in the land of rencong.

"God willing, this new finding from Mubadala will provide economic benefits for Aceh," said Bustami Hamzah, in Banda Aceh, Saturday.

This statement was made by Bustami when receiving an audience with the Special Task Force for Upstream Oil and Gas Business Activities (SKK Migas) in the Meuligoe room of the Governor of Aceh, Banda Aceh.

As is known, if the offshore area is over 12 nautical miles, then the distribution is 70:30. So from this big finding, the profit sharing is that Aceh will get 30 percent profit.

Bustami hopes that with the new findings of gas reserves in Aceh, it can really provide economic leverage for the people of Aceh.

"The finding of this reserve, of course, Aceh still has hope to contribute to the oil and gas sector and is certainly able to prosper the community," said Bustami, quoted by Antara.

Meanwhile, the Head of the Sumbagut SKK Migas Representative, Rikky Rahmat Firdaus, explained that this finding will be a new boosting project economy in the future.

His party together with the Aceh Government will always seek these findings to benefit the community.

"So, there is no story that the results of this activity do not reach all local people. Later, we together with the Aceh Government will guard all of them," said Rikky.

Previously, SKK Migas and Cooperation Contract Contract Contractors (KKKS) Mubadala Energy had announced the discovery of significant gas 65 kilometers off the coast of North Aceh-Lhokseumawe, precisely at the Tangkulo-1 Well in South Andaman.

Rikky conveyed that the sequential findings with a potential of more than 2 TCF gas-in-places on the Tangkulo-1 well which are drilled to a depth of 3,400 meters at a sea depth of 1,200 meters place the South Andaman Block as one of the most important gas plays in the world.
