MSIG Life Health Claims Up 20 Percent In The First Quarter Of 2024

JAKARTA - PT MSIG Life Insurance Indonesia Tbk (MSIG Life) noted that the number of health claims paid by its party increased by 20 percent in the first quarter of 2024 compared to the same period the previous year.

"From the claims we have paid, health claims have increased by 20 percent yoy, one of which is medical inflation which has increased over the last few years," said MSIG Life CEO & President Director Wianto Chen quoting Antara.

He said that the total claims paid by his party during the first quarter of 2024, consisting of death claims and health claims, amounted to Rp164 billion.

According to him, the total claims are dominated by health claims. Health claims are mostly used to pay for treatment due to upper respiratory tract infections (ARI), digestive infections, tissue, and dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF).

"The company continues to realize its commitment to maintain the financial resilience of customers and their families by paying obligations according to the provisions stated in the policy," said Wianto.

MSIG Life's Head of Customer & Marketing Lukman Auliadi stated that although the number of claims paid increased, the company's financial condition remained healthy.

This was shown by the Risk Based Capital (RBC) ratio which was maintained at 1,998 percent in March 2024, far exceeding the minimum provision of the Financial Services Authority (OJK) of 120 percent.

He also said that the high number of claims for several diseases such as dengue fever, ARI, and digestive infection need to be watched out for.

"For this reason, we invite the Indonesian people to continue to maintain a healthy lifestyle, pay attention to nutritional intake, keep the surrounding environment clean, and exercise adequately, especially in the transition season like today," said Lukman.
