Meet Sri Mulyani, Erick Thohir Discusses Acceleration Of BUMN Strategic Programs

JAKARTA - Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir visited the office of the Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani. During the meeting, the two discussed the acceleration of the BUMN strategic program.

Based on the photo uploaded by Erick on his Instagram account @erickthohir, he came together with Deputy Minister of BUMN Kartika Wirjoatmodjo. Meanwhile, Sri Mulyani was accompanied by Deputy Minister of Finance Suahasil Nazara.

"This afternoon, I had a meeting with the Minister of Finance, Mrs. Sri Mulyani, accompanied by Deputy Ministers Pak Suahasil and Mr. Tiko (Kartika Wirjoatmodjo's nickname). We discussed the results of the transformation of SOEs and several targets for accelerating BUMN strategic programs until October this year," he said, quoted from Instagram @erickthohir, Monday, May 13.

Separately, through the Instagram account @smindrawati, Sri Mulyani said that her meeting with Erick Thohir discussed the process of strengthening SOE performance in the future.

"This time we discussed strengthening the functions of SOEs, especially how to increase the effectiveness and efficiency of the business process," wrote Sri Mulyani.

"Thank you for the discussion, Mr. Erick! let's continue to build Indonesia together," he continued.

Previously reported, Minister of State-Owned Enterprises (BUMN) Erick Thohir bluntly admitted that there was one BUMN strategic project out of 88 projects that would likely not be completed at the end of his term of office in October 2024.

But unfortunately, Erick did not explain more deeply what problems had occurred so that one project could potentially not be completed. He only said that there were dynamics that occurred.

"Alhamdulillah, from the target of 88 projects, God willing, 87 will be done. Maybe one missed, because this is not because of the situation that occurred in the dynamics, but later I will report it maybe at the end of October alone," he said when met at TMII, East Jakarta, Sunday, May 5.

Erick also detailed that the total projects that have been completed and inaugurated to date are 82 projects. That way, there are still six projects left in the completion process. However, one project cannot be completed in October 2024.

"So from 88 (BUMN strategic projects) it has been 82 (completed). There are still 6 (unfinished). However, there is one that is quite difficult to complete," he said.

According to Erick, it is natural that he cannot 100 percent complete the entire project. He also joked that perfection only belongs to God Almighty.

"But yes, it is impossible for us to complete a 100 percent job, perfect belonging to Allah," he explained.
