JAKARTA - PT Pegadaian launched a hajj plus or Arrum Hajj Plus portion financing service.
This service provides access to the public wanting to carry out the pilgrimage with a golden guarantee or gold savings.
Marketing and Product Development Director of PT Pegadaian Elvi Rofiqotul Hidayah said the company wants to provide Hajj financing options with a shorter waiting period compared to regular programs.
Elvi also said that the Arrum Haji Plus service complements the Regular Hajj Arrum which has been running since 2016. He said that with Arrum Haji Plus the waiting time is only about 7 years, unlike regulars that reach 40 years.
"The Arrum Haji Plus product is a service to people who want to perform special Hajj services with a shorter queue list of around 5 to 7 years," Elvi said at the launch of the Arrum Haji Plus service at The Gade Tower, Jakarta, Wednesday, May 8.
Evi said that for the financing, the public only needed to come to Pegadaian outlets by bringing their Identity Cards (KTP) and 7.5 grams as a condition for registration.
Then, continued Elvi, after registration is carried out, the public will get plus Hajj financing of 5,000 US dollars or around Rp. 81 million.
"Regularly, the loan value is around Rp. 25 million, this one (hajj plus) is around Rp. 80 million. Higher but faster to go for Hajj," he said.
Pegadaian, continued Elvi, offers convenience for the public with installments every month to pay off the plus Hajj fee. He also said Pegadaian cooperated with Islamic banking and trusted travel partners.
"(The installments) are around Rp. 1.8 million per month for five years and have received the hajj portion, later there will be additional costs paid when leaving," he explained.
Meanwhile, MUI chairman for the MUI Da'wah Cholil Nafis ensured that the hajj portion financing service plus Pegadaian was religiously legal. The reason is, prospective pilgrims are obliged to pay off all loans before leaving for the holy land.
"According to the rules, Arrum Haji plus this is correct, there are no installments that are not paid off because they have been paid off before leaving," said Cholil.
