Amran Invites The Community To Supervise The Distribution Of Subsidized Fertilizers

JAKARTA - Minister of Agriculture (Mentan) Andi Amran Sulaiman invites to oversee the distribution of subsidized fertilizers which currently reach 9.5 million tons to increase agricultural productivity.

"If later there are those who make it difficult to report to journalists so that they can get to me quickly. Tell reporters there are naughty ones from distributors and retailers. All must contribute to the 'Red and White' in the food sector, including journalists," Amran said quoting Antara.

The Minister of Agriculture hopes that the distribution of subsidized fertilizers will not be hampered by delinquency from distributors, retailers and certain parties that can harm farmers in producing food.

Amran admitted that every day he monitors either through activities in the field or reads information through the mass media. He did not want to be missed by the dirty practice of distributors who misuse sales and lead to losses.

"Every day I monitor it through the media (mass), if there are complaints, I send them directly to the director, send them to the head of the district, then to the regent or governor. So, this fertilizer should have been completed because the addition was doubled," said Amran.

The Minister of Agriculture said the additional fertilizer allocation currently reaches IDR 28 trillion, an increase of 100 percent. That way, the total available fertilizer is 9.55 million tons from the previous 4.5 million tons.

According to the Minister of Agriculture, all additional subsidized fertilizers are farmers' struggles and prayers as well as the kindness of President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) towards the domestic food sector.

"Once again, don't blame the people, don't treat the farmers. Those who try to cheat I make sure the permit is revoked. And I trust my position. Why?" said the Minister of Agriculture.

"We are fighting for it desperately. You know, ladies and gentlemen, it is not easy for five months for us to fight for the fate of farmers. Alhamdulillah, Mr. President agreed (the addition of fertilizer allocation). Our president has been so good to us," he said.

In the same place, Bandung Regent Dadang Supriatna expressed his gratitude for the attention and assistance of Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman in increasing production in West Java, especially for the additional struggle for the allocation of subsidized fertilizers.

According to Dadang, fertilizer is an important factor in increasing various agricultural production in Bandung Regency.

"I also express my gratitude to the farmers for continuing to produce extraordinary results. Hopefully, the presence of the Minister will increase our enthusiasm in strengthening national food," said Dadang.
