Towards The 2045 Golden Generation, BPH Migas Asks Students To Prepare

JAKARTA - In order to lead to the Golden Generation in 2045, namely to become a developed, modern, and equal country with superpower countries in the world, the Downstream Oil and Gas Regulatory Agency (BPH Migas) invites students to prepare themselves.

Secretary of BPH Migas Patuan Alfon Simanjuntak in his statement in Jakarta, quoted from ANTARA, Saturday, May 4, said the oil and gas industry needs human resources (HR), which are competent and professional to advance the national oil and gas industry.

"Towards the Golden Generation 2045 is not easy. We must prepare reliable human resources in order to compete with other countries in ASEAN, Asia, and the world in general," he said at the National Seminar on National Education Day with the theme "Migas Industry Contribution in Realizing the 2045 Golden Generation" in Yogyakarta, DIY.

According to him, the younger generation must prepare themselves because they will become future leaders, including being leaders in the oil and gas industry consisting of the upstream and downstream oil and gas sectors.

Alfon said the main challenge that must be faced by the younger generation in the future is mastery of science and technology (science and technology), which continues to grow.

In addition, there needs to be an understanding of energy conditions that play an important role in the country's economy.

"The young generation that will become industry and bureaucratic actors must prepare themselves or have competencies consisting of skills, knowledge, and attitudes. We hope that Indonesia Gold 2045 can be realized, where we move from low or middle income to high income," added Alfon.

Opportunities to improve competence in the oil and gas industry are still wide open, he continued, so business opportunities should be carried out by the nation's children.

"We must try so that the opportunity that exists does not run out, but we ourselves can do it domestically with the competence and also the skills possessed by our human resources," he explained.

Meanwhile, Deputy Head of the Special Oil and Gas Task Force (SKK Migas) Shinta Damayanti said Indonesia has 128 basins of oil and gas production which currently only comes from 20 basins.

Of the 128 basins, 65 basins have not been explored and this is a challenge as well as an opportunity for the younger generation of Indonesia.

According to Shinta, human resources are extraordinary assets and must be built, as well as prepared as future workers by changing their mindset and accepting changes that occur.

"Changes are something eternal. We cannot change, it must happen and now how we can adapt to those changes," he said.

The Chancellor of the 45th Proclamation University, Benedict Renny See, said that in order to realize Indonesia Gold in 2045, it is necessary to prepare a quality next generation, as well as equal development between regions considering that Indonesia has archipelago characteristics.

He also hopes that seminars can be useful for academic community and students in increasing competence to realize the 2045 Golden Generation.
