The Ministry of Industry is holding Business Matching which involves a food and furniture Small and Medium Industry (IKM) in collaboration with the Shopping Center Retailers and Rental Association (Hippindo). This business matching event was held by the Directorate General of Small, Medium and Multifarious Industries (IKMA) and was held for the first time.
The Minister of Industry, Agus Gumiwang Kartasasmita, in his remarks, said that this activity is a commitment from the business world that always supports government programs in improving domestic products and developing IKM competencies so that in time small idnsur will advance to medium industry, medium industry will become a large industry, thus providing multiplier effects for domestic industry and economic growth.
"I left a message to the Director General, Mr. Inspector General and Mr. Director General, whoever the minister will be in the cabinet in the future this program will still have to continue," Agus said in his remarks, Thursday, May 2.
AGus added, after the Covid-19 pandemic ended, the domestic retail industry increasingly showed an improvement trend and even returned to the point before Covid in 2019.
AGus said, this increase in retail sales is very important because it is an indicator of people's purchasing power which is increasing.
"Because if people's purchasing power doesn't increase, it's impossible for people to be able to shop and that in turn will affect the growth of the retail industry and the growth of the manufacturing industry," explained Agus.

Present at the same time, the Director General of Small and Medium Industries (IKMA) of the Ministry of Industry (Kemenperin) Reni Yanita said this business matching was an effort by the Ministry of Industry to bridge food and furniture IKM so that they could meet retailers and their ecosystems including distributors.
He added that this is also one of the efforts to achieve the target of the Directorate General of IKMA to encourage the IKM partnership with other sectors.
"Output is encouraged by IKM players to intensively establish communication and partner so that they can benefit from their retailers, ecosystems and distributors who are potential business partners in matching. This business is a means of exchanging information, technology," explained Reni.
Meanwhile, the series of events at this business matching include business meetings involving 65 IKN consisting of 47 food IKM, 18 furniture that have received sustainable coaching from IKMA and 23 Hippindo retailers.
