Trenggono Targets Fish Production To Seaweed To Reach 30.85 Million Tons This Year

JAKARTA - The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) is targeting fish production to seaweed this year to increase.

"By 2024, the KKP targets fish and seaweed production to increase by 30.85 million tons," said KP Minister Sakti Wahyu Trenggono on the Indonesia Aquaculture Business Forum 2024 agenda at the Raffles Hotel Jakarta, Monday, April 29.

In addition, the KKP also targets GDP growth in the fisheries sector to reach 5-6 percent, fishery exports to increase to 7.2 billion US dollars, and the value of fishery investment can exceed 15 percent.

Meanwhile, this year, said Trenggono, the achievement is also quite large, such as fishery production to seaweed reaching 24.7 million tons.

Then the investment in the fisheries sector is also targeted to reach IDR 12 trillion.

"GDP fisheries according to the applicable price is IDR 555 trillion, GDP growth is 5.49 percent, fishery exports are 5.6 billion US dollars and PNBP realization is IDR 1.69 trillion," he said.

Even so, Trenggono did not deny that the value of investment in the acultural sector was still small.

According to him, there needs to be great confidence from investors to invest in the acultural sector.

"This accultural figure, right, is different from nickel, telecommunications and others. In this accultural, we need to convince first," he said.
