Minister Bahlil Officially Issues Extension Of PT Vale's Mining Permit

JAKARTA - Investment Minister/Head of BKPM Bahlil Lahadalia ensured that the change in the work contract (KK) of PT Vale Indonesia Tbk to a Special Mining Business License (IUPK) had been issued by the Ministry of Investment.

Bahlil explained that the issuance of the permit extension came after PT Vale Indonesia Tbk included a number of supporting documents.

Some of the supporting documents are related to Vale's commitment. Bahlil admitted that he did not want Vale to only get permission, but did not complete his commitment.

Vale sudah selesai dan kemarin sudah di atas mejak saya. Ada beberapa dokumen pendukung yang saya minta dari Vale terkait dengan komitmen Vale. Jadi jangan hanya meminta IUP yang kita kasih tapi komitmen dia tidak selesai, kata Bahlil, di Kantor Kementerian Investasi, Jakarta, Senin, 29 April.

The commitment in question is like investment realization.

Bahlil said that in the past Vale promised to build smelters in several areas, but this did not happen.

"Now we ask as an absolute requirement in the context of investment. I will sign it when he has also committed to what is planned, what is committed is carried out," he said.

According to Bahlil, Vale has made this commitment.

Thus, he said, the permit issue had been completed. This commitment cannot be separated from the IUP.

"Yesterday it was just finished, he just finished making the commitment and it was notarized and it was an integral part of the IUP, by itself it was finished, it was clear," he concluded.
