JAKARTA - Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) said that 29 Singaporean companies were enthusiastic about investing in the development of the Indonesian Capital City (IKN) in East Kalimantan.

"And I hope for support for the construction of PLTS in IKN," said President Jokowi during a press conference with Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong after the two leaders met at the Bogor Palace, quoted from Antara, Monday 29 April.

In the retreat format meeting, Jokowi offered Singapore several investment opportunities in Indonesia, including textile manufacturing in Kendal Industrial Park and construction of a data center in Nongsa Digital Park, Batam.

"Plans for electricity exports to Singapore continue to be encouraged, including investment in supporting green industries," he said.

Regarding food security, Indonesia and Singapore agreed to encourage cooperation in technology transfer and exchange of science and technology in food processing.

Indonesia also invited Singapore to become a developer of three halal product industrial areas, namely in Bintan, Serang, and Sidoarjo.

In the socio-cultural sector, President Jokowi and PM Lee discussed strengthening health transformation through investment in building hospitals and clinics, developing the capacity of medical personnel, digitalizing health, and developing health SEZs in Bali.

When discussing regional and global issues, the two leaders agreed to continue to encourage the creation of peace in the Middle East and strive to continue to strengthen ASEAN's centrality.

The seventh retreat is the last for Jokowi and Lee before their reign ends this year.

"This is a strong signal for the continuity of cooperation between the two countries, Singapore and Indonesia," said Jokowi.

The two leaders also welcomed the entry into force of the agreement on adjustments to air space services (Flight Information Region/FIR), defense, and extradition - which in the future needs to be ensured that its full implementation takes place.

During the retreat, President Jokowi and PM Lee witnessed the signing of two memorandums of understanding on cooperation by ministers related to the two countries, namely in the field of community empowerment in the mangrove ecosystem and the defense sector.
