The Ministry Of Transportation Records 4.3 Million Lebaran Travelers Using Vessels

The Directorate General of Sea Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub) noted that 4,332,458 passengers were transported by ship during Eid 2024 transportation.

"Realization of the number of passenger transportation for Eid 2024 on D-15 to D+14 Lebaran 2024 is 4,332,458 people," said Director of Sea Traffic and Transportation of the Directorate General of Sea Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation Hendri Ginting reading the report on the sidelines of the closing of the Homecoming Command Post Cheerily with Lebaran Sea Transportation in Jakarta, Friday.

Hendri said that the data was the result of reporting Lebaran transportation via the ship route from March 26, 2024 to April 25, 2024 until 23.59 WIB which was monitored at the 2024 Eid Transportation Integrated Command Post at the Head Office of the Ministry of Transportation.

"The implementation of the Command Post starts from March 26 to April 26, 2024 for 32 days, 24 hours at 294 monitoring ports," said Hendri.

He said the realization of the number of Lebaran 2024 passenger transportation increased by 13.96 percent from 2023 as many as 4,376,098 people with details of passengers increasing by 2,474,762 and passengers falling by 2,257,696 people.

"The total number of passengers on the backflow has exceeded the total number of passengers on the homecoming flow, so all passengers have returned to their origin," explained Hendri.

He said the ports with the most dense on Lebaran transportation in 2024 were Nusa Penida, Batam, Benoa, Tanjungpinang, Tanjung Balai Karimun, Tanjung Perak, Winners, Makassar, Selat Panjang and Baubau.

In addition, the distribution of total passengers up and down by region is 35 percent in Sumatra, 22 percent in Java and Bali, 12 percent in the Sulawesi region, 10 percent in the Maluku region, 8 percent in the Kalimantan region, 8 percent in the Nusa Tenggara region and 5 percent in the Papua region.

"The achievement of Eid Al-Fitr transportation in 2024 is smooth, safe, safe, and comfortable thanks to coordinating in accordance with the tagline Mudik Ceria Full of Meaning," said Hendri.

Director General of Sea Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation Antoni Arif Pribadi said that in general sea transportation in Lebaran 2024 will run better and smoother when compared to the previous year.

According to Antoni, the success of this year's Eid transportation is due to the continued improvements made by his party which begins with a careful planning.

"So, starting from January, we ramp check the ships that operate, then we hold several coordination meetings and formed an Integrated Command Post involving all stakeholders at the port," said Antoni.

Antoni said that his party had coordinated with local government officials during Eid 2024 transportation, especially places where passengers predicted to experience a significant increase.

"So in general on Lebaran transportation using ships runs well and smoothly. However, I also need to convey several things to evaluate that the keyword for Eid transportation is not only a matter of readiness in sea transportation but also readiness assisted by the community or associations," said Antoni.
