JAKARTA - The Ministry of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) built 15 special houses for people with disabilities in Banjarbaru City, South Kalimantan, using state budget of IDR 2.13 billion.

"We have completed the construction of 15 special housing units for people with disabilities in South Kalimantan with type 28 houses", said the Director of Special Houses of the Directorate General of Housing of the Ministry of PUPR, Yusniewati, in a release in Jakarta, Sunday, March 7.

Yusni explained that the construction of the Special House was carried out by the South Kalimantan Province Housing Provision Unit and was intended for people with visual impairments.

She revealed that the budget for the construction of 15 housing units uses the 2020 State Budget budget with the Implementing Contractor PT. Tapakangkah Mandiri, and the Supervision Consultant of CV. Indisign Consolindo.

She argues that the special houses for the disabled also have very good specifications, including the electricity network, Utilities Infrastructure (PSU), clean water facilities for the local water company (PDAM) as well as the Guiding Block or Yellow Line for road directions for the visually impaired.

"In the future, we also plan to build 13 special houses for people with disabilities on Jalan Trikora, Guntung Manggis Village, Banjarbaru City. We hope this assistance can provide benefits for people with disabilities", she said.

The Regional Secretary of Banjarbaru City, H Said Abdullah, expressed his gratitude to the Ministry of PUPR for building this special house for people with disabilities.

She promised to maintain this housing in order to keep it looking good and comfortable to live in. This special house will soon be occupied for blind people who have a Banjarbaru City Identity Card (KTP) and is registered as a member of the Indonesian Blind Association (Pertuni).

“Many people with disabilities have submitted requests to live in this special house for people with disabilities because here they are more sociable, comfortable and feel more valued. We will also mobilize them to immediately occupy this special house with disabilities this weekend”, he said.

As previously reported, the PUPR Ministry stated that the Housing Development Proposed Information System (Sibaru) program synchronized the housing program between the Regional Government and PUPR so as to synergize the One Million Houses program.

"Currently, the regional government can submit housing program proposals through Sibaru. Submissions are carried out by officers from the regional housing office", said Dwityo Akoro Soeranto, Director of Systems and Strategy for Housing Implementation.

Sibaru or Housing Assistance Information System is an electronic and online-based system designed to support business processes within the Directorate General of Housing.

The system starts from the stage of proposing assistance, monitoring implementation, distribution of implementation results until finally the assistance is occupied and/or handed over to potential beneficiaries.

Sibaru, which is owned by the Directorate General of Housing of the Ministry of PUPR, is one of the supporting systems for the implementation of the National Strategic Program for the One Million Houses Program.

"Sibaru is one of the public service innovations to help the government's poverty alleviation program. This is because through this information system, the Ministry of PUPR wants all Indonesians to have houses that are livable and improve the welfare of their families", he said.
