JAKARTA - PT XL Axiata Tbk emphasized its commitment to supporting government programs for the advancement of telecommunications and community services, which to achieve that goal, all stakeholders must work together.

"In achieving government programs, all stakeholders must cooperate, so that they can provide services properly," said XL President Director & CEO Axiata Dian Siswarini during a halal bihalal with the media in Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Thursday, April 25.

Dian said, one form of company support for the smooth running of government programs and providing optimal service to the government, among others, is the company's optimality in preparing the network during this year's Eid holiday.

XL Axiata conveyed that the telecommunications network during the Ramadan and Lebaran holidays was in a safe and controlled condition by recording an increase in data usage traffic between April 4-14, 2024.

Data from the Customer Experience & Service Operation Center located at XL Axiata Tower, Jakarta, shows an increase in data service traffic by 16 percent compared to normal (normal) days before Ramadan.

The surge in traffic is inseparable from the enthusiasm of the community to travel back and forth to their hometowns and on vacation celebrating Eid al-Fitr.

"We are grateful to be able to provide maximum service to customers during this year's Eid holiday period. We have carried out network preparation in advance from all aspects, including various necessary anticipatory steps," said Dian.

The pattern of using various types of data services by customers during the Eid holiday can describe the maximum number of Indonesians in utilizing digital facilities for various daily needs. During the Ramadan and Lebaran periods, service traffic was dominated by streaming which reached 59 percent, followed by web browsing of 18 percent and social media of 15 percent.

In this streaming service, a number of applications experienced a significant increase in usage traffic, such as game-based services experiencing an average traffic increase of up to 135 percent, YouTube up 17 percent, TikTok 14 percent, Netflix up 42 percent, and Spotify up 23 percent.

Judging from the five regions, the increase in service traffic nationally during Ramadan and Eid al-Fitr compared to the usual day traffic that occurred in Central Java Province with an increase of 32 percent, West Nusa Tenggara 21 percent, Lampung 19 percent, West Sumatra 17 percent, and Aceh 16 percent.

At the level of five cities/districts, the highest increase in traffic occurred in Kebumen Regency, Central Java Province, an increase of 68 percent, Cilacap Regency, Central Java Province, an increase of 58 percent, Pemalang Regency, Central Java Province, an increase of 53 percent, Tasikmalaya Regency, West Java Province, an increase of 52 percent, and Brebes Regency, Central Java Province, an increase of 50 percent.

For service traffic in Jabodetabek, service traffic seems to decrease during Eid compared to normal days, which is down to seven percent.

"The decline in traffic in Jabodetabek is in accordance with the high rate of displacement of customer locations during the Lebaran period. Monitoring data records the rate of transfer of customers from the Jabodetabek area to other provinces, which is around 30 percent," said Gede.

Overall, to ensure network readiness in meeting customer needs and convenience during this year's Eid period, XL Axiata has increased network capacity by up to two times compared to normal days. Network escort procedures are still being carried out as much as possible, including by deploying 94 BTS mobiles to strengthen network quality in locations that require support.
