Lobster Export Permits Still Published, KKP Collaborates With AGO To Guard Governance Rules

The Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) cooperates with the Attorney General's Office (Kejagung) in assisting the implementation of lobster governance after the issuance of Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Regulation (Permen KP) Number 7 of 2024 concerning Management of Lobster, Crab and Crab, on March 18, 2024.

Secretary of the Directorate General of Aquaculture, Gemi Triastuti, said that this was done by his party so that the implementation of lobster governance, both in the field of catching and empowering lobsters in accordance with statutory regulations.

"This is an effort to maintain the sustainability of Lobster Seeds (BBL) and to benefit the community and state revenues," Gemi said as quoted from the KKP official website, Wednesday, April 24.

Meanwhile, the Director of Legal Considerations at the Attorney General's Office, Sila Haholongan, welcomed the KKP's request to ensure that the lobster management policy went well and in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.

Sila said that the AGO could carry out assistance activities in implementing lobster governance by the KKP after the kick off meeting was held.

"Of course this is in accordance with Jamdatun's services in providing legal assistance and consultations to government institutions," he said.

For your information, the Minister of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries Sakti Wahyu Trenggono has issued Permen KP Number 7 of 2024. This regulation is expected to be one of the steps to improve lobster governance in Indonesia.

In addition, lobster management is expected to be carried out in a sustainable manner, have a positive impact on the national economy and strengthen Indonesia's role in the global supply chain of lobsters.
