Jokowi Inaugurates 5 Inpres Roads In Gorontalo Worth IDR 161 Billion

JAKARTA - Minister of Public Works and Public Housing (PUPR) Basuki Hadimuljono accompanied President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) to inaugurate 5 regional roads in Gorontalo Province which were handled through Presidential Instruction (Inpres) Number 3 of 2023 concerning Accelerating Improvement of Regional Road Connectivity.

The inauguration was marked by President Jokowi's pressing of the siren button on the Trans Polohingo-Langge Intersection 3 section in Boalemo Regency today.

President Jokowi said that the presence of road connectivity has an important role to play in increasing productivity in the region, especially in transporting agricultural products such as corn and coconut which are the leading commodities of Gorontalo Province.

"If there is no road where are you going? Therefore, the road is very important to increase productivity. So, once again, the production results will be more competitive, competitive and can be brought to their destination," Jokowi said in his official statement, Monday, April 22.

Sebanyak 5 ruas jalan daerah yang ditangani melalui IJD adalah Simpang 3 Trans Polohingo-Langge di Kabupaten Boalemo sepanjang 7 kilometer (km) dengan anggaran sebesar Rp44,3 miliar.

Then, the Molingkapoto-Simpang Kwandang/Bypass Moluo-Malingkapoto section in North Gorontalo Regency is 4.4 km long at a cost of IDR 49.3 billion.

Furthermore, 3 segments in Gorontalo Regency, namely Jalan Pongongaila-Tumba Ayumolingo 4.4 km at a cost of Rp. 16 billion, Jalan Runi Hemeto (Ponggalaila-Buhu) for 4.2 km at a cost of Rp. 16.1 billion and Jalan Mulyonegoro-Karya Mukti for 18.3 km at a cost of Rp. 27.1 billion.

"Through IJD, damaged regional roads are repaired through central assistance, prioritizing connecting roads for production and industrial areas, with outlets and markets," said Minister Basuki.

The Ministry of PUPR has completed the handling of 46.1 km of regional roads as an effort by the government to increase the availability of regional roads and integrated connectivity with the national road network system. Thus, the commodities transported are directly distributed to the destination area.
