Minister Of Agriculture Amran Invites All His Staff To Work Maximumly To Pursue Food Swasembada

JAKARTA - Minister of Agriculture Andi Amran Sulaiman invites all his staff to work optimally so that they can realize food self-sufficiency as happened in 2016-2018.

"The development of the agricultural sector is because we love Indonesian agriculture. Thank God we can meet domestic needs because there is love that we give to agriculture," Amran said during the Eid al-Fitr 1445 Hijri halal at the Head Office of the Ministry of Agriculture Jakarta, quoted from Antara, Saturday, April 20.

Amran said the Ministry of Agriculture's love for the agricultural sector has proven to be able to realize self-sufficiency three times in a row during 2016, 2017, and 2018.

"And now, this love must increase many times with various ongoing programs," said Amran.

In halalbihalal activities, the Minister of Agriculture conveyed the importance of maintaining togetherness and love for the agricultural sector which is more brilliant and brilliant.

"Alhamdulillah, now the rice is under control, production is also under control, fertilizers have been approved in 5 flats (limited meetings) to 100 percent. I am happy because farmers smile during the month of Ramadan," he said.

The Minister of Agriculture hopes that this year's halal bihalal can be a momentum for all parties to join hands in maintaining the food sector in the future. Moreover, he said, world conditions are currently facing major challenges that arise due to the multidimensional crisis.

"Hopefully in the future what we are doing will be much better. We pray and join hands because the challenges ahead are more complex, let's strengthen the food sector," he explained.

Amran said the government through the Ministry of Agriculture is intensifying the pumping program as a quick solution in overcoming agricultural problems, especially irrigate dry rice fields affected by the El Nino phenomenon, so that it can realize food self-sufficiency.

"I am optimistic that in the coming year Indonesia will be able to be self-sufficient in a sustainable manner because the (pompanization) program we are building is a future program," said Amran.

According to Amran, pumping will have a positive impact in meeting the production target for national food needs this year because it can increase the planting index (IP) from once, it can reach three times a year.

Amran added that the Government through the Ministry of Agriculture is also targeting to be able to pump to irrigate rice fields on the island of Java at least 500 thousand hectares and 500 thousand hectares outside Java.

In addition, optimizing Rawa Land (Oplah) as a sustainable long-term program.
