Sri Mulyani Disbursed That The Distribution Of Rice 10 Kg Is Not Part Of Perlinsos

Minister of Finance Sri Mulyani Indrawati emphasized that food assistance in the form of distributing 10 kilograms of rice from the National Food Agency (Bapanas) is not part of the social protection budget (perlinsos).

This is done to strengthen food security and stability of food prices.

"The distribution of food aid carried out through Bapanas is not part of Perlinsos but is aimed at strengthening food security and stability of food prices," said Sri Mulyani at the hearing on the dispute over General Election Results Dispute (PHPU) or the 2024 Presidential Election, Friday, April 5, 2024.

In 2023, continued Sri Mulyani, Bapanas has a budget of IDR 10.2 trillion and has provided food assistance to 21.53 million beneficiary families.

This gift was given by Perum Bulog during September-November 2023 in the form of giving 10 kg of rice.

"In the process of disbursing the allocation of food assistance requested by Badanas, it is necessary to have a review by the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP) to ensure accountability from the submitted application," he explained.

Meanwhile, for 2024, Sri Mulyani said that Bapanas had a budget of IDR 6.71 trillion or actually decreased by around 30 percent from 2023.

Sri Mulyani said, in order to support the implementation of government duties in the food sector, the Government formed the National Food Agency (Bapanas) through Presidential Decree Number 66 of 2021, as the implementation of the mandate of Article 129 of Law Number 18 of 2012 concerning Food, to fix national food governance in a directed and effective manner, to create food sovereignty, food security, and food independence nationally.

As for the implementation of its function, Badanas handles food insecurity, including through procurement, management, and distribution of food aid for low-income and disaster-affected communities.
