Drag Ex-Director To Sandra Dewi's Husband, Minister Of Energy And Mineral Resources Opens Voice About PT Timah's Corruption Case

Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Arifin Tasrif opened his voice regarding the issue of corruption in the trading system of the mining business permit (IUP) PT Timah Tbk (TINS) which cost the state Rp271 trillion.

Arifin said that actually the corruption cases that dragged 17 suspects, from the former President Director of PT Timah to Sandra Dewi's husband, were the realm of corporations.

However, he ensured that his party would continue to investigate because the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources was related to the mining licensing process.

"Yes, that's a corporation. If we only deal with mining permits. We just need to go deeper," said Arifin, who was met by the media at the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources Building, Friday, April 5.

Arifin also said that there needs to be cooperation between relevant agencies to explore this corruption case.

As an effort to prevent the same case from happening again, Arifin lost his party will also strengthen the Mineral and Coal Information System (SIMBARA) to improve tin governance. Moreover, so far only coal commodities are members of Simbara.

Arifin said that in the near future the government will include nickel commodities and other mineral commodities.

"Because we were just about to enter nickel, and we immediately put in another one, another mineral. So that material, the mineral, the item, was caught where it came from," continued Arifin.

In three money with Arifin's statement, previously the Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan, said that in the near future the government would integrate nickel and tin into Simbara.

"The plan is that this year nickel and tin will also be integrated into SIMBARA. I deeply regret the practice of tin corruption cases that have occurred this time, considering that we are perfecting SIMBARA so that we are able to integrate all mining data in Indonesia," said Luhut, quoted Thursday, April 4.

Luhut said, with SIMBARA, governance in Indonesia, which was previously divided, could be more integrated so that there is no overlapping and confusion of information that causes unwanted things to occur, such as tin corruption cases that cause state losses.
