BRI's Director of Digital and Information Technology, Arga M. Nugraha, said that one of the modes used was the fraudster on behalf of the package courier or parcel, as well as the Eid greeting file through the unofficial application file (APK) which would be encouraged to be installed on the victim's device.
Arga conveyed that customers should remain vigilant against the social engineering mode where the perpetrators take advantage of social manipulation and psychological weaknesses (wantuation, enthusiasm, and human negligence).
"As a result, the victim became a target for the perpetrator of the crime, without realizing that he was a victim of social engineering," he said.
For this reason, he continued, in providing protection for customers, BRI applies three components, namely in terms of processes, technology, and people. BRI always carries out a more secure application development process. BRI also continues to strive to increase awareness of the dangers of riding both to workers and BRI customers.
"This awareness is to fulfill the responsibility of protecting customer data and funds," he added.
