Minister of Transportation (Menhub) Budi Karya Sumadi warned airlines to comply with the provisions regarding the upper limit tariff (TBA) for aircraft tickets during the 2024 Eid homecoming period.
Furthermore, Budi admitted that he had warned airlines not to offer ticket prices to pass the TBA. He said, if the airline violates this applicable provision, then his party will take action.
"We have warned airlines to obey the upper limit rates. If it violates, we will take action or warn according to the applicable regulations," he told reporters, in Jakarta, Tuesday, April 2.
Budi emphasized that the implementation of flight ticket TBA at the moment of this year's Eid homecoming only applies to economic class. Meanwhile, for other classes, he said, they would follow the rules of each airline.
"This upper limit rate only applies to economic (classes), so if business is the authority of airlines to carry out tariffs there," he said.
Previously it was reported, Budi ensured that no airline selling tickets exceeded the upper limit (TBA) during the Lebaran 2024 homecoming period.
